It was safe to say that the last six months had been the best six months of Jongwoon’s life. Well, not including the day Super Junior finally debuted, that was the most memorable experience, no question about it.

The reason why he had enjoyed the past half year had been due to one person; that one person who stole his heart quickly and easily. He loved the younger male so much that it was now at such a point that Jongwoon was now stuck at the bottom of an endless pit with no hope of escaping. He had fallen into the trap that he feared of falling into and hoped he would never have to enter. But he had failed.

He definitely didn’t regret it though. In his own peculiar way, he was regretful that he realized his emotions so late that he only got to spend six months with Kyuhyun; especially since he had spent many years sharing a dorm with the said man. Had he really been that oblivious about his emotions until Kyuhyun finally gained the courage to confess? That it was then when he finally realized how his own feelings toward the maknae were definitely not one of those brotherly relationships?

What was worse was after they had confessed in front of the rest of the band and Ryeowook came up to them afterwards to say that he was really happy about the news and that he was glad that they finally realised their feelings towards each other. Had they been really obvious with their actions but not realize their own emotions? Were they really that oblivious?

Ironically, he really did try to dislike Kyuhyun when he turned up on their dorm step many years back. It was so unfair that their already big band was increasing even further by some male three years younger than him. It was even worse to have an extra member in a twelve man band; especially for him. He had spent the first few months after debut as one of those extra vocals because the cameramen just did not like him. It wasn’t fair that he was the one working so hard to get all the music up to scratch, to add all the harmonies and yet he would get no camera time at all. On the other hand, he was thankful that he wouldn’t have all the pressure of having to be the main singer and was willing to delegate some of his lines to other members.

He couldn’t really blame Kyuhyun for falling so deeply and embarrassingly in love. Who would be able to resist the maknae’s looks and gorgeous voice? It must have been hard for Kyuhyun to get into Super Junior as a last minute member, but he was glad it did happen.

Thinking back, it felt like yesterday that it was the first time he met Kyuhyun, the innocence and nervousness evident in his eyes. The other members were a tiny bit cold towards the new member; obviously they weren’t too pleased that they were now competing for camera time with more people. It was one of the only reason why Jongwoon did treat Kyuhyun nicer from the very beginning. He was the one who offered to let Kyuhyun sleep in his room when no one else would take him. It was like he needed to indulge Kyuhyun in the love he was missing from the other eleven members, like it was his responsibility as a hyung. It was never going to be more than a hyung/dongsaeng relationship, right?

He could remember very clearly the day Kyuhyun stormed up to him that one day while he was reading his book, practically snatching the book out of his hands and proclaiming his eternal love for him. To describe how he felt at that time was pure shock. Kyuhyun was the cute maknae of Super Junior who could get practically anyone with his charming looks and his pure voice, yet he had just proclaimed his love to the ‘weird’ hyung. It was also quite flattering at the same time, though that thought was at the back of his mind as he tried to process Kyuhyun’s words.

It wasn’t until a few days later when he realized his own love for the obsessive gamer. It was him who made him feel complete with a smile. It was him who would be there to reassure him when he was feeling down. It was him who would always be there first to congratulate him. It was him who he loved. It had to be.
There was no other way around it. Kyuhyun had already ruined their friendship by declaring his love to him in the first place. He loved it. It wasn't everyday one would find the love of their life; the one who he could see spending the rest of his future with. No conversation was ever boring with Kyuhyun and every moment with him he would cherish. Kyuhyun had stolen his heart.

Everything was numbered though: the time till he debuted; the time since Kyuhyun joined Super Junior; the time till he has to leave Kyuhyun and join the army.
Due to health problems, he was ruled as the 4th replacement status and so would be working as a public worker. He didn’t mind he would be out of the limelight for two years. In fact, he was quite anticipating the peace and quiet and not having fans’ cameras up in his face 24:7. He was a proud Korean and was eager to do enlist. Well, that was until Kyuhyun stepped his foot into his emotions. Now, the date of his enlistment was looming but he didn’t want to enlist. He wouldn’t have to be on the front line, but he would still have to receive the basic training for if North Korea decided to attack the South. Four weeks without Kyuhyun would feel like a lifetime. How would he cope without the sweet scent of apples tingling at his nose? How would he cope without the warmth of Kyuhyun’s hugs each and every night? How would he cope without Kyuhyun?

He understood that his time with Kyuhyun would be limited, but he would still lucky enough to see Kyuhyun each day, or for enough time to survive. He wouldn’t see the maknae as often as he would have hoped to, but because of the Super Show 5 now taking place, Kyuhyun and the rest of Super Junior would be out travelling the world, performing to thousands of fans. Kyuhyun would be thousands of miles away from him, meeting new people every day. He wouldn’t even be a phone call away because of the time differences.

He was ashamed that he had become so reliant on the maknae. Sometimes he would wonder if he had become too clingy towards Kyuhyun and if that annoyed him. What happened to the Kim Jongwoon who was independent and strived to protect all his dongsaeng?

What would be the probability that Kyuhyun would love Jongwoon forever, like he said he would?

Kyuhyun stared down at the elder male as he continued to stroke Jongwoon’s spine. Jongwoon was lying on top of him, his head against the younger’s chest evidently listening to the calming sound of his heartbeat. He personally wasn’t quite sure as to how his pulse was so soothing to Jongwoon because every time he felt Jongwoon get closer and closer to him, he swore that his pulse increased to such a rate that each time he would think that he would pass out. He would never get over that sensation. Jongwoon was such a special person that he would hold onto that person with both hands and make sure he could never escape.
For Kyuhyun, it was easy to tell if there was something troubling Jongwoon’s mind; it was probably easier than reading a book. There were periods of time where he found he had trouble deciphering what was wrong with the elder singer, but for the majority of the time, Jongwoon would be the one going up to him first to express his opinions.

He continued stroking the top of Jongwoon’s hair, knowing that soon enough the elder would confront him. Instead, he decided to make use of the time being close to the elder because it wasn’t often where Jongwoon would be the one to initiate any intimate actions.
“Kyu ah…” Jongwoon finally turned to look up at the person he fell in love with. It was actually really embarrassing at how hopelessly in love he was with Kyuhyun. It was regretful how he would have to leave him soon to serve his time for the country. As much as he didn’t want to leave, he still wanted to make his country proud.

“I know what you are thinking about, hyung. You don’t need to tell me.” Kyuhyun maintained eye contact with Jongwoon. After last month’s fiasco where Jongwoon decided to try and end their relationship because he was too scared that his heart would break further from being apart from Kyuhyun, Kyuhyun decided to try and make every memory memorable and great. He often felt like he was letting Jongwoon down. Jongwoon was perfect, everything he could ever want; while he was some Mathematics nerd who got into Super Junior by pure luck. He did consider himself to be particularly lucky. He was the only one to be picked for the rotational Super Junior proposal that Lee Soo Man had been proposing before dropping the idea after the success of Super Junior’s debut. He was the one who survived a horrific crash in April 2007. He was the one who was lucky enough to experience true love.

It wasn’t that he was nervous about Jongwoon going into the army; he was only going to be working as a public service worker anyway so he would still get to see Jongwoon every evening. That is if Jongwoon went to the dorm each night. Four weeks was nothing to wait and he would wait patiently before being the first person to greet him again when he comes back after his training.

“It’s getting closer now though… just over three weeks away. I would completely understand if you want to leave me to go out with some hot chic when you travel to other places for Super Show 5. I heard that the English girls are particularly good looking. A bit like those French fans; though I hope they won’t be throwing bras like they did in France.” Jongwoon chuckled at the embarrassing memory of being handed that bra, not realizing what it actually was until too late. He was too innocent for his own good.

“You’re so silly, hyung. Why would I ever want to go out with someone else? I really don’t know how many times I need to reiterate that it is you whom I love. And anyway, I couldn’t let my Jongwoonie be heartbroken. He is too deeply in love with a man called Cho Kyuhyun!” In return, Kyuhyun received a playful slap against his chest. He chuckled. He never really liked having serious conversations with Jongwoon because it meant that Jongwoon was questioning the future of their relationship.

Their relationship was never going to be normal. They knew right from the very beginning, from the point when they entered their relationship. But they were in love, and that was all that mattered.

“Yah! Sometimes I wonder why I make myself suffer with you. You are so snarky! Okay Kyu ah, I think you should let go.” Jongwoon lifted himself off Kyuhyun’s body, only to find himself being pulled back towards the chest he was lying on previously. “Kyu ah, let go!” Jongwoon continued to struggle against Kyuhyun’s arms even though he knew he had no hope against the younger’s biceps. Internally, he blamed his particularly small hands for being unable to pull the arms around his body off though he knew in reality that he just too weak to do so.

Finally coming to the realisation that Kyuhyun would never be willing to let go he relaxed his body once again, listening to the sped up pace of Kyuhyun’s pulse.
“Donghae ah, I don’t want to go in! What if Yesung hyung and Kyuhyun are doing inappropriate things? I mean, the door is closed!” Kyuhyun and Jongwoon turned to face the door where the muffled voice was coming from, immediately blushing a vibrant shade of red. It was the fact that the other members had considered their relationship would have gone that far; even they still found their relationship awkward even though they had been going out for, what, six months.
“Nonsense, Eunhyukkie! Yesungie hyung and Kyuhyunnie would never do that! And if Kyuhyun touched Yesungie in that way I would personally kill him with my bare two hands! Anyway, we need to tell them that we are going out for a meal.” Jongwoon snuggled his head further and deeper into Kyuhyun’s neck, mentally encouraging his face to stop blushing. It was at that point that Donghae decided to burst into the bedroom, screaming obscenities at the sight of Kyuhyun holding Jongwoon whose face was tucked deeply into Kyuhyun’s neck. “Yesungie hyung! I will save you, don’t worry! Cho Kyuhyun! I expected better from you! Get your hands off Yesungie hyung right now!”

It was at that point Jongwoon decided to tease Kyuhyun himself. Shyly, he raised his head very slightly, positioning himself right next to the younger’s Adam’s apple. Slowly and embarrassingly, he placed his lips against the raised skin sucking at it lightly, almost teasingly. The effect was instant, with the grip around his body loosening and a small gasp leaving Kyuhyun’s mouth. A small blush tinted Kyuhyun’s face. Had Jongwoon really just done that whilst there were other people in the room?

Jongwoon took that moment to pull his body away from Kyuhyun, tugging his hand lightly encouraging him to follow them out of the dorm. It was evident that Jongwoon was embarrassed by what he did because as soon as he stood up, he hid himself effectively by using Kyuhyun as a shield.

“You… you know Kyu ah… just remember… that I… I… love you.” Had Kyuhyun heard correctly? Firstly, Jongwoon initiated some intimacy; then he teasingly kissed his Adam’s apple and then told him that he loved him. He felt like there were fireworks exploding by his head. He was so ecstatic that Jongwoon had been so open with him. It was like their relationship had taken another step forward. In fact, more like a leap forward. He wanted to pick the smaller male up and place a big open mouth kiss on his lips, only refraining when he realized there were still two other males standing in the bedroom with them.

“I know. Even though you will be gone soon, I will not stop thinking about you once. Actually, I will never stop thinking about you. Because I love you too.” Kyuhyun smiled as he whispered the last few words into Jongwoon’s ears.

“Promise?” Jongwoon looked up, feeling tears of happiness welling up at the base of his eyes. It was at that point where he could reiterate again and again the reasons as to why he had fallen in love with such a perfect man.

“Pinky promise.” Kyuhyun slid his hand towards Jongwoon’s, imprisoning a small hand in a comforting grip before letting go, latching his fifth finger around Jongwoon’s as to seal his promise. It was then that he pulled Jongwoon along; their pinkies still intertwined, out of the room to meet the rest of the members in the living room, a small smile evident on both of their faces.

The last four words did not go unheard by the other two males standing in the room, watching the two lovers in their own world.

“You two are so cute and cheesy. It sickens me!” Eunhyuk screamed as he chased after them, a signature gummy smile stretched across his face, pulling a complaining Donghae with him. He was in awe, definitely in admiration at how romantic they were in their own way.

True love is hard to find, but Kyuhyun and Jongwoon had definitely found it.
