The costume party was winding down. Jack carried his punch out to the deck and looked up at the stars, the sword from his pirate costume getting caught in the wooden slats of his deck railing. As he was trying to free the prop without damaging it, Sam stepped outside. "I can't get my sword out," he explained.
"That's not something a girl likes to hear."
He smirked and looked over her t-shirt and jeans. "So what are you supposed to be, anyway?"
She stepped closer so he could smell the alcohol on her breath. "For tonight? I'm a civilian."

A blue gingham dress, an oval of yellow hair with a chin strap. A large funnel painted silver, a pile of straw. Sam scanned the debris from her vantage point, half of her bedroom obscured by the sheet in front of her face. Soft lips - Vala's - began to trace up her spine. When Vala's face appeared over her shoulder, Sam turned her head and kissed her softly.
Cam stirred underneath them and Sam rolled off him. Vala slid between Sam's legs and reached up to play with Sam's tiara.
Last night, Sam had been a very good witch.

Janet tilted her head to the side. "You are?"
"Mm-hmm."
"How can you tell? The uniform is the same, right?"
"It definitely is."
"And you're a woman... so why wouldn't you be a policewoman?"
"Accessories."
Janet frowned. "Accessories..." Her eyes moved down to Sam's belt to check her handcuffs and baton... and spotted an unusual bulge against her zipper. Janet's eyes widened and she pursed her lips. "Oooh. You are a policeman..."
