The much needed vacation.

This has been a very good week, and I’d like to say I feel much better now than I did when I got here. Getting here turned out to be interesting, and again, I got here later than I’d planned, but I did make it and I still had a good time.
Thursday was busy, as I spent most of the evening getting things done before I left late that night. I had to make sure the new kitty was all set, my room was clean, and I had everything packed. The only thing I couldn’t do was cool the room down. It was so hot, and had been for three or four days or so, that my room was an oven. I felt bad for the poor kitty. I got everything done and packed, and got to the station in plenty of time. You’ll note, I did not use Checker cab. The bus left mostly on time, I was confident we would make it to Siracuse…until I was awakened to the smell of a burning vehicle. Not long after that, we were stopped in the middle of the road, and did not move for another hour or so. We were only fourty miles outside of Siracuse, and a tour bus decided to pick then to collide with a tractor trailor truck. There were emergency vehicles all over the place. They finally told us about a detour, because they knew it was going to be a while before the mess got cleaned up. By the time we got to Siracuse, it was 4:30, two hours after I was supposed to get there, and I missed my connection. So…I ended up going back through Toronto again, which meant that I had to backtrack through Rochester again. All told, I didn’t see Ottawa until eight that next night. There went the sleep I was supposed to get, and the laptop time James was supposed to get so I could actually use said lap top. James’s parents ended up picking him up, then picking me up from the station, and we hightailed it back to their place. I crashed like nobody’s business that night.
The next day was the party I’d come up for. It turned out to be really nice, and it seemed like everybody was happy. I finally got to hear James play piano, as he played a nice song for when the couple in question renewed their vows. He stumbled a time or two, but he did a really good job for the most part. His mom says he was nervous, but he won’t admit it. The party was awesome as well. We danced and drank some but we didn’t get drunk. Those bar drinks are never strong enough for that. I got to see Trish, and meet her friend Jessie. I also got the pleasure of watching James’s uncle Peat pinch his cheaks. No, I didn’t get a picture, dammit.
Sunday was relaxing. James set my lap top up for me, and we made the trip back to his place. I discovered that I love this apartment more than the first one he had; probably because it’s bigger. It echos, but that’s because it’s spacious, and you all know how much I love spacious.
Most of the week was spent bumming around here and relaxing. We didn’t get to go swimming like I’d hoped, but we still had a good time. Thursday night, I finally met Jonney, or as most of you know him as blind bandit. He came over, and we all drank, and did a very interesting stream. If you don’t want to be scared, don’t download it. If you wish to be traumitized, go to Shane’s blog where you can obtain it quickly and freely.
This was the week for radio shows though. Tuesday, James and i did a cover on Mojo for someone who wasn’t able to do hers. Wednesday, while Shane was doing his cover for someone, we sort of made an unplanned audio appearance that had everyone on twitter in an uproar. Suffice it to say, the sinsativitie of some microphones even with doors closed is appalling. But Shane and Chelsea made things interesting, and I wasn’t as embarrassed as I probably should have been.
yesterday we didn’t do dittly squat. The boys were all sluggish from the night before, and I was lucky enough to be alive before noon and wanted people to talk to me. We ordered pizza last night and just bumbed around here.
Now I’m getting ready to leave. I think Roger’s going to pick us up and I’m just going to catch the 2:;30 like I always do. I have plenty of things to listen to on the bus if I can’t get net access. This vacation was most definitely what I needed, even though I really don’t want to go. I think the only thing that happened back home was the cat jumping out my bedroom window and being gone for a few days. I thinkk he made his escape on Saturday, but he was found in the back yard on Thursday. Tasha emailed me a few times jsut to make sure I was OK, and Candi messaged me a couple of times, but nothing interesting happened. I’ll have to go straight back to work tomorrow, but it’ll be dead like it always is on Sundays.
I’m officially ending my first blog post on the lap top now, so you can all wake up, and I’ll be back soon.
