Yes, yes, do some research while you can - it all fades away much too quickly. I wish I'd asked more questions much earlier on. Your Dad's story sounds fascinating, and too typical. So many didn't say much about their experiences.

My father also took lots of photos, and we used to describe his war service as 'Dad's World Trip'. But it was far from a laughing matter, so many of his squadron were killed on operations...it's actually a miracle he came home at all.
