weekend ickiness

This weekend was horrible!!  Okay, not totally horrible, because Kevin came over and I certainly enjoyed my time with him.  He even enjoyed participating in the redial_the_gate  chat and watching a kickass episode of SG-1.  He wasn't that hot though on some of the episodes of season one though!  Anyways, the reason it was horrible is because I came down with a ( Read more... )

Kevin is seeing the show for the first time; I've seen all of season one at least twice (probably not much more as I've not revisited it as much as later seasons) I am however still very very new to the Stargate fandom (TV anyways--loved the movie since I was 13) I believe I've only seen bloodlines twice (as I'm looking at the summary). I have not watched any of the special features on the seasons though, so I don't know any of the back stories! Kevin totally wanted Sam and Jack to blow the guy away as soon as they saw him (without us getting to the point where we knew he was crazy--he likes to jump the gun a bit anyways...)

My layout works perfectly for Apple Safari, firefox, and IE for Mac (that horrible horrible browser I only keep for webdesign!) but I'll check at work to see if there's anything funky on the windows machine... the base code I used is from a very long time ago, and LJ took a while to upgrade the base layers to allow for userpics (can't believe they had the problem with that in the first place) and the sidebar has been a reoccurring issue since I went orange (my green version from two years ago never had that issue) Thanks for the heads-up though--its rare I get any comment on the layout or any problems people might have with it...

just took a look in IE for Windows... that is ugly!!! hrm... not sure how to progress on this, but at least I know what I am looking for potentially... I might just have to give up replying in my style and go back to LJ regular looks...

Killing him on sight would have been a tad hasty, but letting him take the gun was just stupid. There's no excuse - that was just bad writing, I'm afraid - although now it's canon, so we have to find ways to explain it. ; )
What I was going to say about Bloodlines, is that when Daniel shoots the tank, Sam disapproves on the basis that they are helpless and killing them is morally wrong. It sets up an interesting conflict between her and Daniel, but I think Daniel was right. There is no such thing as an innocent Goa'uld, and they would all have been used to enslave Jaffa or hosts. Daniel is more ruthless here, but correct. I wrote a story about that (Of Ruins and Soldiers) It was one of my first, so I would write it very differently now, but I still like the concept. I may rewrite it now that my writing is a little better.
