After years of waffling, I bought my very first laptop last Thursday. It arrived this afternoon, three days early. It's a Dell Inspiron 1720, with upgraded video card. Oh - in Spring Green. Very pretty she is.
As I write this, I am sitting up in my bed, watching
Toa from Samoa on
American Gladiators and eating a brownie. I don't think there is much better in the world and it (temporarily) makes up for my broken phone - broken for the second time in four months. I love the phone, a very powerful smart phone/pda, but it's got the substance of watered-down of shit really. The first time it broke I had to pay $50 to get it replaced. If they want money to replace this one then I'm probably going to buy out the contract and change providors, buying a blackberry. Oohh - maybe an IPhone.
I have been interrupted no less than four times while writing the above paragraph. The children should learn to respect the laptop in bed. Liam has a tummy ache - refusing to believe the four brownies he just ate had anything to do with it. Erin wants to know why the man on tv is talking about angry "Ga-la-diators" is and wants her toes painted. Will keeps saying, in reference to the people fighting the angry Ga-la-diators, "I can do that. I really think I can do that." And teenage Shea, walking around in her father's Queensryche Operation Mind Crime concert t-shirt (circa 1990 I guess?) and wants to talk about her high school wardrobe.
