I got to say this week has been hell. For starters I had to go to the doctor last week thursday do to some complications I am having. Then all week I've benn arguing with my ex-mother-in-law. First things first.
Talking to people you trust is good, but when they refuse to believe you then there is nothing you can do, because they want to believe that the person you speak of was the perfect husband or perfect father, and... because in reality, they are scared that your being honest. Think about it: You tell your mom your father molested you, the first thing they think is somewhere along the lines of "Its my fault". They think if that happened they could have stopped it, they would have noticed it, and are afraid to admit they aren't perfect.
As for why you were so close to your father... that's not uncommon. He's your father after all. Rapists generally prefer to keep their victim close, make them feel like they are "making a deal" or something similar. Not to mention there's this little thing called Stockholm Syndrome, that makes a victim feel like they need to protect the person who is hurting them.
Honestly I would talk to a school counselor, doctor, psychiatrist, whoever you can that will listen to you. Be careful, because some might try to tear you away from your family because of the fact that your family won't listen to the truth, but others will understand that you need someone to talk to, to confide in.
As for why people do those things to children. I'd like to tell you that some people just can't help themselves, and the truth is sometimes that is the case, but here I don't think it is. Some people are no more than animals, following nothing but sheer instinct. The instinct to eat. The instinct to hurt. The instinct to follow lust. Some people care only for themselves, and not for anyone else. Those are the people I truly pity, because no matter where they are or what they do, those people will never find happiness.
