The Sound of Silence

...So, I'm thinking from the mostly abject silence today, it might not be looking so good on the audition results front... Jo didn't mention anything when she called to see if I was still interested in doing publicity for Metamorphoses, and I didn't think it was appropriate to ask. There's a chance that there's still some deliberation going on, but realistically-speaking, I don't think I'll hold my breath--Rob said they'd probably only be taking on one more guy in the core/apprentice auditions, so there were at least 3 other guys I was competing against (although for a while before we started, it was looking like I would be the only guy in a room full of women, lol). Of course, I've had a day to go a bit paranoid already, and wonder whether or not my involvement with the company immediately prior to this actually counted in my favour (because they got to see what I could offer), or against (because they'd hold me to a higher standard). All I know is, I spent portions of today drafting and redrafting a media release for the show, and it's going to be awkward if they want me to get deeply involved with the production and I turn out not to have gotten an apprenticeship... lol. Regardless, I need to start making plans for the future; and slightly longer term than "I'm going to eat a can of Heinz spaghetti tomorrow".

Note to self, though: make sure people are using my Hotmail address and not my UQ one, as my heart really isn't into continuing honours next year; at least not right now.

There were also two totally random phonecalls which I'm guessing might have been accidental (twice?), due to the general hubbub of ambient noise and lack of general communication in my direction. Hopefully not the sound of someone changing their mind about my application--paranoia back in effect. lol. Also, my sister and I went to Blockbuster in the afternoon and got out a few new DVDs. I figured I should get out the rest of The Goodies Tasty Box Set since I'd watched the earlier episodes already. And I should really get a haircut before graduation; get my normal hair colour showing properly...
