Quote of the Day:
"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."
-Friedrich Nietzche
So, it's been an interesting few days. I wrecked my car and got a ticket on Saturday, was forced to stay late at work on Sunday, got caught at my strange step-grandparents' house Sunday night, got an estimate for $2600+ worth of work on my car yesterday(which means that over the past year, I totaled it), got news of my aunt's miscarriage and possible thyroid cancer yesterday, made cookies for complete strangers yesterday, had to bring a pair of socks for our dumbass "Grill Room Captain" because she didn't bring any to work today, and went to the John Fogerty concert and the Waffle House with Lu and Sarah tonight. John Fogerty rocks my socks. Because of this, I must now make a new list of the concert performances I have seen (by choice). Here goes, with the best at #1:
1. Aerosmith in 2002 at Verizon Wireless
2. Aerosmith in 1998 at Sandstone (now Verizon Wireless)
3. Sting in 2004 at Circus Maximus in Rome
4. John Fogerty tonight at Uptown
5. Kid Rock in 2002 at Verizon Wireless, opening for Aerosmith
6. Glen Miller Orchestra in 2003 at Missouri Theater
7. Kiss in 2003 at Verizon Wireless, with Aerosmith
8. Aerosmith in 2003 at Verizon Wireless, with Kiss
9. Three Dog Night in 1999 at Trails West
10. Must in 2002 at Verizon Wireless, opening for Kid Rock, opening for Aerosmith
11. Peacemakers tonight at Uptown, opening for John Fogerty
12. Sergeant Soul and the Hollow Box Band 1999-2002 at random local venues
13. Beans and Frank, Oddbender, Thrust, Full Power, many crappy bands in 2000(?) at Golf Club
14. Jazz concert in 2004 at Roman park near Hotel Lancelot
15. Italian guy who opened for Sting in 2004 at Circus Maximus
16. Dan Seals in 1997 at Civic Arena
17. Megadeath in 1998 at Sandstone, opening for Aerosmith
Megadeath and Thrust are the only two bands that I can honestly say sucked, without a single redeeming quality.
