Well, the tally is in folks! I have officially read 44 FULL LENGTH novels in one semester. The shortest of these were in the 150 page range, and a few upwards of 500 pages. I didn't feal like doing an official count, and I sold most of them back, but assuming that the books were on average 250 pages, this means I have read somewhere in the range of 11,000 pages. On average I read at a pace of about 45 pages an hour, sometimes less, sometimes more. Theoretically, I have spent 245 hours reading. This works out to about 10 days of reading, assuming no sleeping, eating, etc. etc.
I am so fucking glad this semester is over.
Tuesday was one of the longest hauls yet, starting at 11 am and continuing till 8 am the NEXT MORNING. Then, I slept for 2 hours and got up to finish my work.
Maybe when my mind is no longer numb I will write up some book reviews for you all.
Instead, here are some movies that I want to see:
Walk the Line
Chronicles of Narnia
Weatherman
The Producers-- (Remake the 60's film with Will Ferrel. I assume he plays the part of Gene Wilder?)
George Clooney's new movie, Syrianna
Memories of a Geisha--Any mainstream release involving Japanese culture is a must see for me
Marebit-- Looks cheesy, but like I said, I'm a sucker for anything Japanese.
Corpse Bride-- What the hell, why not?
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Ice Harvest-- I am also a sucker for anything John Cusack
Lord of War-- I love Nicolas Cage's charisma onscreen.
The Squid and the Whale-- Jeff Daniels as a failed writer, divided by his jealousy over his wife's newfound talent.
