Literary or eggheaded? You decide.
Public service announcement: My snake is back, and so is my father! The events are related; my father returned from his five-week solo hiking trip (California to Canada), and my mother immediately saw the snake in the room with the mice, and commanded him to grab her. We're a whole family again.
I've spent the morning reading: ghost stories, plays, my voting ballot, and poems-- specifically Erin Belieu's Black Box. The poetry itself doesn't seem too cohesive but she has some very wonderful individual images. As I was reading it occured to me that it's been a while since I wrote a poem, and I'd like to give it a try again, and writing poetry for someone generally helps me get going.
So, let's introduce a brand-new meme. Comment with your name (or the name of a character of yours you know I know), and I will write a poem for you. Style and length are up for grabs, but I can promise I will honestly give it my best shot. You can request as many as you'd like, but if you go for a lot, needless to say, it'll take me a while to get that far.
