Kisses
Ok I blame the following all on OptiMoose and the fact I looked at at ffnet contest. *sighs* This is of no particular fandom and miss the lower word limit by almost 500 words but the scene popped in my head and demanded to be written and is the first bit of writting I've done since december. So here it is in its total raw form.
Kisses
I've never been one for kisses. Well, not the lip to lip kind. The smooth slide of lip, tongue and teeth against clean skin is another thing all together. I'm no talking about little pecks here or god forbid tongue locks. No, just simple ordinary lip on lip. There is something about them that hasn't sat well with me since my very first one.
So, I really didn't know what to do when she closed her eyes and tilted her head up. A girl's first kiss is an important thing, but I still had to grimace at the thought. Her cheeks were slightly flushed and her fingers shook in nervous excitement on my chest. The balcony door was open and a gentle breeze stirred the curtains and her hair. I should have seen it coming. It was a set up out of some romance novel.
Her eyes fluttered open. “John...” she queried in trepidation.
Now she was thinking I don't like, that she was being too forward. Inwardly I sigh, as bring one hand up to brush her hair back and lower the other to circle her waist. 'A girl's first kiss is important', I tell myself and mask my distaste and lean forward.
The hot damp feel of another's breath in my nose and mouth; the touch then give of wet flesh; it brings no feeling of desire within me. My nose brushes her cheek and I slowly count to 4 feeling stifled by her breath. Giving her waist an extra squeeze and lift my head trying not to be too obvious about my deep inhalation of fresh air. She smiles prettily at me and tucks her head under mine.
“ Thank you” she softly murmurs, gently patting out the wrinkles of my shirt.
I tuck an errant lock behind her ear and enjoy the feeling her body against mine. I've never been one for kisses, but anything for her.
Yes incrediably sappy. Which I didn't intend it to be from the start *shrugs* As for whether it will end up in the contest or not. Probably not. I could figure out a fandom to stick it in and probably pad it with some more description, but I don't see it getting up to 800 words.
