Tea cap philosophy

Under tea cap today I had this quote:

There is more to life than increasing its speed. -Gandhi

This really resonates with my thinking lately. It may be the season or it can be that I'm coming to better terms with myself, but it seems to me that people spend a lot of time trying to go faster and being upset and stressed they can't go faster. If you read my post about road rage and commuting you'll know part of what I've been thinking.

Once I came to the realization about my changing attitude towards commuting, it bothered me even less. In fact, now I really look forward towards my moment of me time. I'm trying to apply that serenity, in which I approach my commute, to other aspects of my life. If something is going to be late, there is nothing you can do to make it not late, accept it and move forward. Also, instead of trying to speed my life up, I'm trying to slow it down. And ya know? I'm getting just as much done, but I'm much happier and less stressed about it. I don't have it down perfect yet, but I'm going to keep working at it.
