The Puppet Show

Jan 31, 2005 23:19

Yay I just submitted my EHP essay by e-mail at 11:10 pm on Jan 31, when it's due on Feb 1. There goes my vow to not procrastinate (much) anymore.

In other news, Science Fair judging was fun today. I'm sad that I didn't get to judge any of the cool ones though, like the Poker kid (Kim's new hero), or the pulley kid (the mini-Pavan), or even the biometrics kid whose project was obviously done by her parents. If I judged her, I would have been so tempted to ask her to define what biometrics is for me without reading off her posterboard. Anyway, I did get one interesting kid at the end though. His project was to see how many seeds are in different kinds of apples. So I was trying to get him to explain what he did and what he learned, and his only coherent response was "I counted seeds from apples." Then I looked through his project, and there were some charts and graphs and things that classified the apples by brand or taste, and showed how many seeds the different types of apples had and so on. I was trying to prod him to say something other than just "I counted seeds from apples," so I randomly pointed to a graph and asked if he could tell me what that shows. It was HILARIOUS. He slowly looked at the graph I was pointing to, then slowly looked back at me, then said, very seriously, "Oh I don't know what that is. My mom did all that." It was funny because he said that with such seriousness. Lol it's probably one of those things where you just had to be there.

And FYI, on the last entry, the quote about something perfect coming along was from The Red Violin. I didn't really expect anyone to get it. However if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. The other unguessed quote about honesty was from Quiz Show. Another great movie. I am so disappointed in you, LeeLee and Alex. How can you not recognize that quote? It's like a betrayal to Moody, considering Moody knows personally the guy who said that quote in real life. You two are BAD Moody fangirls. XP
