He was saying that if you were wearing a material like nylon or polyester and you were taking it off, the friction between the shirt and your body would cause your body to become electrically charged. If you were taking off your shirt in complete darkness and in front of a mirror, you might be able to see yourself glow a little from the eletrical charge.

And the moral of the story is: don't ever wear nylon or polyester shirts to physics class. :D
