If Alex had thought things seemed complicated prior to being left in the house, that was nothing compared to the way she felt a while later, seated just as she had been before, but in clean clothes and having been told everything. She'd stayed quiet through most of the explanation, not even sure where to start asking questions, but believing it all, too. For the moment, at least, she had no reason not to. Whatever had happened between she and her father her waking up here, he honestly had seemed to mean what he'd said earlier, and she was in no position to disregard that. It was entirely possible, she knew, that her judgment was skewed by the events of the past day, not the least of which was taking a bullet to the head, but given that the alternative was to be left on her own to figure out a place she'd never so much as heard of before, she could do this. After losing her mother and Karl, and so suddenly, she wasn't sure she had it in her to be the one to push Ben away now.

"That's it, huh?" she asked wryly, letting out a short, mirthless laugh, as if she somehow could have expected more, when really the opposite was true. Shaking her head a little, she closed her eyes for a moment, expectant when she opened them again. For all that it seemed impossible to keep going after everything and in a place so strange, she ignored it for the time being, knowing full well that there would be a better time for it. More serious, she added, "So... what now?"
