What: Chatting in the rain, chatting in the tent
Where: On the ocean shore, the camp

Warnings: maybe a LITTLElot angst

It wasn’t that she saw him on her LP or anything. It was more that she was wandering around, looking for those that she knew; which really wasn’t that many people anymore. In the rush to leave she had lost her LP somewhere. She didn’t know if it was at home or on her when she was out at the rec center, but it was gone. After the rush to get home, save Tanpopo and get out of the city, she’d taken some scrapes and bruises but nothing too bad.

Having taken up a tent on the outskirts of the other tents, she left what little she had with her in there, and the poor little yellow bird to rest and sleep in it, safe and out of the rain. Wandering about, she had noticed the figure sitting out in the rain. Head tilted, she walked towards him, paused, realizing it was indeed someone she knew, and then came to stand near him, hands behind her back looking out at the lake. “Ah… there you are. Mind some company?” She asked softly at first, face, knees and hands smudged with dirt, a few burns here or there.

With out invitation, she took a seat on the ground near him, not too close, but near. It was wet, but so was everything else, as was she. “Penny for your thoughts?”

Ichigo glanced over at Himawari, a slightly surprised look on his face. He reached up to brush some of his hair out of his eyes so he could see her better.

"A-h...hey Himawari." He said as he turned back to stare at the seemingly furious ocean. Ichigo was tired and cold, but out of fear of running into Rukia he'd come to sit out here. He was already too emotionally worn out to even want to deal with seeing the other Shinigami, even the thought of her face made his heart ache.

"Nah...you don't need a penny for em. I'll just tell you....since you're probably one of my closest friends." Ichigo said in a quiet voice before glancing over at her with a sad smile. He knew the 'penny for your thoughts' was a phrase, but today he just couldn't find it in him to come up with a cocky reply like he normally would.

She had actually been surprised to see him way out here at first. She’d just been wandering, unable to settle in and just sit still by herself. Being as soaked as she was at the moment, the rain didn’t bother her at all. The crazy ocean and the sound of rain was a lot more calming then the sound of burning.

When he said she was one of his closest friends, she blinked, a bit surprised by that, but it brought a smile to her face at least. Her arms wrapped around her knees, leaning forward on them, resting her head on her arms to look over at him. “I’m sure you have better friends around here then me. But I’m very glad to know that I get your thoughts for free.”

"Well....actually....you and Neji are my only friends. Well..I guess Doumeki but....he's not as close as you two are. Urahara disappeared, and Rukia and I...."

Ichigo looked down at the water washing up rather close to his feet.

"You two are all I got left I guess if what I'm tryin' to say." Ichigo's voice was eerily calm as he said that and he sighed heavily, leaning forewards to mirror the way she was sitting.

Why did it seem they kept finding more and more in common with each other? Hearing what he was saying, she gave him a small sad nod, still leaning on her arms and legs like he seemed to be doing now as well. He too seemed to lose a lot of friends recently. All of which just up and disappeared. Not to mention his fight with one of them.

She herself was feeling a bit empty over the fact that Doumeki said he was going to catch that boat out of here. It was part of the reason she had started wandering about out here anyhow, to see if it was alright. With out her LP she didn’t know they failed other then rumored talk.

“I’m glad to be considered such a good friend then. It’s a honor.” The girl said with a soft smile, raising a hand to push rain water form her face before resuming her resting position. “You seem like the type that would be surrounded by friends. The popular guy at school. It boggles me how you say you haven’t many friends.”

Ichigo laughed at that a little and shook his head.

"No...I'm not exactly good at being social...and a lot of kids are weirded out by my hair." Ichigo pointed at the slick mess of orange hair as he spoke about it.

“Well, it does look a bit… different.” She stated, but added, with a bit of a smile. “…slicked down like that, I mean.” Though she wasn’t one to talk. Her thick mass of curls was nearly straight and her hair was plastered to her head. “Though I don’t see why anyone would be weirded out by your hair really… it doesn’t seem that strange.”

Kids could be so cruel.
