Top Postcards
A listing of cities with best postcard stands, with cost taken into account!
1. Rome. found a great selection and one store for only 10 cents each...and bought 1 euro's worth...and they were kickin' pictures too!!
2. Athens. for 40 cents each, and bad selection at the store, but, they were the best quality postcards out of the trip...more of photo cards than anything else
3. Barcelona. 25 cents, good selection with barcelona written on most of them (helpful when you forget where they were from)
4. Fussen. GREAT pictures on the postcards...price not so great...but still, the most beautiful castles in the Alps makes for good postcards
5. Salzburg. decent price, good pictures, including a great one of a fortress that looked like it was floating in the clouds...and sound of music ones as well
6. Vienna. Good selection and decent prices, though i bought them too early in the trip...so i only have ones of Schonbrenn palace...but that was a cool place, so i don't truly regret that, i just wish i had a better variety.
7. Venice. Expensive and decent, but nothing truly special...a couple neat ones with sunsets/sunrises and moons over the canals..but nothing amazing
8. Milan. Expensive and poor selection, but we were rushed and didn't have much time to shop around...oh well, the good ones were truly good.
9. Munich. expensive and even worse selection...no good pictures of the city, all seemed to be circa 1980...colors and fashions included, though there was a cute one with beer in it that i got...yeah.
10. Zurich. um, they didn't have any in zurich that we could find, therefore they get last place on this ranking of postcard cities!
My suggestions for fellow postcard shoppers...shop in the middle of the day and good prices are anywhere from 10 to 40 cents, refuse to buy ones over 50..cause yeah, that's a crazy price!!! and if they offer to sell you the stamps too...get them, post offices are hard to figure out overseas...so get those stamps while you can! that way you don't have to wait until the end to mail all of them! which is what i need to do...finish writing and mailing them! i have my next set awaiting stamps to mail out soon...and after i finish a speech and my essay (or two) i will get them taken care of...i promise! and that's no pie-crust promise either!! next list: top train stations!! (i think that'll be next)
