A few weeks ago I was talking to my dad about birds that I've seen in the yard. I remarked that I haven't seen any Blue Jays at all. He had noticed the same thing. We decided that was weird because we always have Jays around. So, we did some research and we found out that the
Blue Jay and
Bluebird populations are seriously dwindling because of the West Nile virus. Then, early Saturday morning my Dad and I saw an Eastern Bluebird out in the yard! I hope they are making a comeback. I love them because they are pretty, but also its sad to think that this virus could totally wipe out a species or two of birds.
