LJ Frustrations and Spring Awakening Part II

Jun 28, 2007 21:33

I have been trying to post for weeks now and as you tell by the lack of posts my efforts have been in vain.  For some reason LJ just doesn't jive with my new web browser.  On more than one occasion I have composed a thoughtful entry and as soon as I go to post BAM! - with the click of a mouse, its gone!  So here I am, trying again and hoping for the best.

So, you may ask, what have I been up to?  Well, I have been able to cross some things off my summer to-do list. I planted an herb garden.  I didn't plant much because I didn't have much of room but, things are growing!  I am very excited.  Maybe I should post some pictures.  I have also been hiking with the dog.  I love that he gets tired before I do.   By the end of our hikes he's trailing way behind me.  As planned, Kerry and I went camping for the Solstice.  We had a great time even though a freak thunderstorm threatened to spoil our fun.

I know there are several things I haven't done but I still have two months.  I really haven't read yet.  I need to get going on that.  I haven't gone to the gym much either.  Someone should nag me about it or maybe mock me for paying for my membership and then not using it.  Someone? Anyone?

Yesterday I went to NYC with Missy and Alicia to see Spring Awakening.  Even though it was sans Skylar Astin, it still rocked.  I was so happy to be the one to pop their SA cherries.  I have to say the one thing that is always great about going the city with Missy and Al is the food.  We are all uber-foodies so that means great restaurants.

Missy wanted to go to Ruby Foo's for lunch.  Billie has always raved about the place, so I pretty excited to go.   Sadly, I discovered that I could only eat TWO things on the menu because EVERYTHING else is cooked in the same pans and fryers as the shellfish.  :(  I think Alicia was a little scared because she ate with her fork in one hand and my epi-pen in the other.  I also learned that most of the chicken dishes have a fish sauce or fish oil in them.  Yuck.  Luckily, I made it through alive.

After the show, we went to the Blue Fin for drinks.  Alicia's friend Derek totally hoked us up with free Champagne and biscotti.  What was even cooler was when we went to pay for our martinis we found out that our drinks were comped.

We decided to go to Angelo's in Little Italy for dinner.  I had the best papperdalle of my life with a kick ass chianti.  Honestly, I am sure that everything on the menu is amazing.

In other news - CBS is airing an encore of Jericho.  I wanted to see it when it aired this season but I never caught it.  Here's hoping I don't develop yet another TV obsession.  But really, who am I kidding?
