Insanity is just a state of mind
I am definantly on a MASH kick. I have decided from all my fav episdoes that "Welcome to Korea" the first one has got to be my absolute favourite episode. THe part where BJ experinces the true horrors of combat and Hawkeye supports him while he throws up just gets me everytime I see it.
I also love any episode with the character SIdney Freedman in it. He's only in 12 episodes but I think he's as important a character as any of the others. I wish I could actually find a therapist who sounded/acted like him. THe actor who plays him plays him so well I actually find his voice calming *laugh*
Today was a LAZY day, while I did get stuff done, no where NEAR as much as was on my list. THankfully since I work tomorrow I have to stay up late so I can get into a cleaning bug later. I'm also hoping to paint some too since I've been getting a jones for that. Just wish I could get a jones to draw more strips, I'm getting so behind! Oh well soon soon
Right now I'm rping with Randy which we haven't done in AGES! It makes me so happy. I missed our boys. I was worried that I might hold an unconscious grudge towards them due to incidents I care not to mention, but no. THese characters are kinda like family we've been rping them soo long heh.
I called Graeme. He and Melissa just entered Manitoba. I am jealous. I'd love to drive across Canada, granted though I'd have to find someone who LOVED driving to do it with due to the whole no license/scared crapless to actually drive thing. But I could be a good navigator/entertainer during the trip heh
Apart from MASH I've been watching a lot of Extreme Home Makeover. I got cable again and its on every night in reruns. I swear the show ALWAYS makes me cry, granted in a good way, but every DAMN TIME *laugh* But still its a wonderful show. I'd much rather watch that then other reality shows. It definantly makes shows like "My Super Sweet Sixteen" look even worse. I wish everyone could just spread wealth like they do on that show
I'm also excited. NExt week Emily(BC)'s girlfriend Jenn is coming to Victoria for two days and they've decided to stay here to save money on a hotel! Luckily it works with my days off which is awesome! Granted I still have to check the pull-out bed and clean up whatever crumbs Graeme may have left, but I'm confident I'll have the entire place clean for their arrival. Hee hee I totally want to have sleepover fun! Maybe make brownies and watch movies. Maybe I'll even try and get the nintendo hooked up and if it still works we can play Duck Hunt or something hee hee. I just hope the cats don't drive them bonkers, its been a long time since someone slept over here- not since NEw Years with Chrissie and Simon, and I know Mona and Logan can become a little annoying at night if your not use to them
Heck I still find them annoying and I'm use to them :D
Ug, the only note of annoyance is the children that live in this townhouse collective near my place. I cannot wait for school to be back in. These kids are loud and annoying and seriously make me want to walk over there and smack each and every one of them- and knowing how much I actually like kids that's saying something. Not to mention someone there owns two tiny yappy dogs that are constantly barking at like 10pm at night
Also I lent my neighbours who were moving my big cat carrier last night and they returned it this morning. However when I got it back to my apartment I noticed that one side is now completely broken, a HUGE crack in it pretty much making it unusable without a fair amount of patch work and even then I doubt it. I was kinda miffed, more so that they returned it without maybe mentioning the damage but I wonder if maybe their kids had done it by accident and they hadn't noticed, since the Mom mentioned the kids had been playing with it. Oh well, it was too big really and the front grate had rusted a bit so I did really want to get a new one, I guess this is the excuse I needed.
THat's pretty much all the news for now. I'll end with one of my favourite Hawkeye rants. Its in the earlier seasons (which aren't really my favs- I like it more from season 4 on) but its such a great line that I love it.
Hawkeye: I will not carry a gun, Frank. When I got thrown into this war I had a clear understanding with the Pentagon: no guns. I'll carry your books, I'll carry a torch, I'll carry a tune, I'll carry on, carry over, carry forward, Cary Grant, cash and carry, carry me back to Old Virginia, I'll even 'hari-kari' if you show me how, but I will not carry a gun!
