I went to the "Girls on the Town in Hopkins" thing, which cousin D has been promoting. She lives in Inver Grove, why does she need to shamelessly promote Hopkins? It involves getting a passport, and visiting at least 8 businesses to get the passport checked along the way to win prizes. You do not need to purchase anything, but there are deals along the way to lure you in. If you have a shopping inclination, you are simply doomed. I had told her that I didn't want to devote an entire afternoon to this, and she blythly declared that we would be back in Minneapolis for a Fair Trade wine tasting by 3. Hah!
We got a late start, as usual, and were just picking cousin C up at 1pm. Then we got swallowed by the first store we entered. I hadn't realised that C was looking for a purse. I actually bought a purse. I am going to attempt to use one again. It was laid out in fashion that made sense to me, and was not big. I got a fairly plain one. It was a really impressive price, and we got 5 bucks off to-boot. My cousins lingering over the ordeal of finding a purse, I then applied myself to finding the perfect purse based on what they were saying. I found it for both of them, and told the sales lady that I wasn't going to charge my usual commission. I was put off, at first by the excessive display of pink handbags. Eventually I was won over by
www.lilliansshoppe.com/hopkins/. (I am not adjusting to the new easy way to do the markups)
With the possible exception of the bead shop, and the free bodywork which we got, the rest of the afternoon was about all the stuff that they wanted to see and get. One hair place had a free eyebrow waxing, but they were closed by the time we got there. We chose our place to eat so that we could get our passport stamped. We got our stampage accomplished by 3:45, but there was still stuff to see, so it was almost 6 by the time we left. It was almost 7 when I introduced D to _Trip to the Cottage_ , which is one half block from my house. She had been wondering how Lillian's could run a viable business when it's only open one weekend a month, so I was inspired to show her another business, which does the same. I snuk out the back way and headed home. Visions of workout dancing in my head.
Workout was short, and interupted by someone trying to improve it. I was not actually irritated at him.
I had earlier had thoughts of going to a certain birthday party, but there are only so many people I can take in over the course of a weekend. I took the night off.
