I think Russel has cut his cords with the show. Hes killed off most people, blown up the hub, made Jack run away and now Gwen will have to be a mother. She isnt going to be alien hunting with a kid to look after.
I'm now wondering if Barrowman's complaints about the series being cut to five episodes wasn't just about a shortened season (and presumably being paid less), but also knowing Jack was being gutted and, if he returned, the audience could never look at him the same way again? Unless someone writes a huge reset - and I'm torn on the idea of that - Torchwood as it was known seems to be dead.
And you and I raised a lot of the same (unanswered) questions. I can't call CoE brilliant writing with the number of plot holes that it had.
