(This starts out boring but involves Spike, people, so please keep reading. <3)

So, I've recently started writing my dissertation for university, and believe it or not my tutor legitimately advised me to think about using the show Buffy the Vampire Slayer in my research. While I have, in the past, watched pretty much all episodes at least once, I ( Read more... )

There's an episode in series 5 (I think its spiral, but I'm not sure) when he protects Dawn. Also, basically all through angel series 5 he ignores whatever angel says. He also turned his mom into a vampire because he loved her, (series 7)

Hope this helps in some fashion!

a) I would definitely look into the season 4 episodes with the Initiative. But another moment that comes to mind is at the end of Spike's first episode, "School Hard." The Annointed One became the leader of The Order of Aurelius after The Master was defeated and the vampires all seemed to bow down to him. He had been built up as the Big Bad of Season 2...that is until Spike cam along. By killing him, Spike turned the rules upside down and showed there was a new force to be reckoned with in town. :) Here's their exchange (copied from imdb ( ... )

For C: You may want to also look into anything dealing with Drusilla in Season 2. His entire reason for returning to Sunnydale was to get information to find a cure for Drusilla whom he'd been caring for. It's why he kidnaps Angel (which could be A as well because Angel was head of their little family when he was soulless) and why he makes the deal with Buffy to stop Angel: He only wanted Dru safe and out of harms way.

As for D: would him being depressed about the state of his relationship count? In Season 3 Spike does return to Sunnydale drunk because Dru left him and kidnaps Willow and Xander. It was to get them to perform a love spell, but he spends most of the episode depressed about Dru and putting the blame of her leaving on himself. I believe the episode was 'Lover's Walk'.
