In three minutes, it’d be done.

Everything was in place. The process could begin, and the Iron Clock would soon have what he wanted the most at that moment. There was a ripping sound followed by a soft hiss, and then there was a gentle rustling of clothing as Sano produced something from his coat pocket.

It was a small timer, beautifully crafted and one-of-a-kind. The little clock had, on more than one occasion, counted down to the demise of an opponent. A fond smile appeared on Sano’s face as he carefully set it to its usual three minutes. It always served him well.

With great care, the Iron Clock placed the timer on top of the flimsy surface. He pulled his hands back to his sides and simply waited. No tricks of light or any amount of speed on his part would change this event.

No, time was against him right now.

The room had gone silent save for the quiet drip drip drip of the timer. For once, it was Sano’s turn to remain as still as a statue, the rise and fall of his chest just barely visible. All he could do was wait, wait for the three minutes to be up.

And finally, after what had seemed like ages, the last drop of liquid fell into the bottom half of the timer. Sano’s hands reached forward, picking up the two thin sticks he had placed nearby before removing the timer from its spot. Once again, there was a ripping noise before a soft sound of content slipped past Sano’s lips.

His ramen was done.
