Music Meme, Day 21 (late and out-of-order edition )
Directions: EVERY DAY ANSWER ONE QUESTION AND POST A VIDEO OF THE SONG ON YOUR WALL. Label it as... Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, etc., then that day's question and the Artist and the Song title. HAVE FUN!! :D
Well, I'm rarely one to actually follow a meme's directions.
Looking over the original categories, I can't answer (or don't care) about half of them. So I think I'll go with a bit more free-form style of just picking 30-some-odd songs and writing up a bit about them.
I should say at the default that I have no particular musical tastes or knowledge. I listen to trashy pop most of the time. Still, I will make an attempt to pick reasonably good music.

Here's another one where it's hard to bring it down to one song. I have an entire playlist with-at last count-155 songs I consider relatively cheerful.
Well, cheerful to me, at least. Some of them are actually bittersweet, if not outright depressing. I'm weird like that.
Also, it doesn't help that I've already done songs that make me happy (1), songs that make me happy (2) , and cheerful songs. What in the world is left?
Ayumi Hamasaki, “fairyland” and lyrics
This song is actually really bittersweet, but the PV tips it over into a somewhat more happy mood. This is actually the most expensive Japanese PV ever made. It's like 16th worldwide-the first non-American PV on the list.
Probably because they went to Hawaii and burned down a...bungalow?
But the sheer beauty of the landscape, and even the bitter sort of beauty of the fire really make me feel good.

I feel as if I was going to post this before? If I did, apologies.
It's kind of funny that the signer takes both the narrator’s and the girl's PoV. Also, that “girl” in the video is in fact their male guitar player, Bou. Though he left the band...
They call themselves “oshare kei” (stylish type), the pop version of visual kei. “Stylish”...yeah.
Mognet did a good translation of this vid, but they don't allow their translations on youtube.
Right, so this girl has no self-esteem, and decides to keep changing her image to try and attract her man. Nekoomimi / cat ears attracts the slightly-creepy otaku . Ganguro gets the stylish guy's attention. But in the end, it's her real self the object of her affection always wanted. Aww, so cute.

A relentlessly cheerful song, and an excuse to cosplay.
Kaitani Naomi, “Tooi Kono Machi de” and lyrics, from “Cardcaptor Sakura” (the first film, specifically)
CCS is one of the cutest shows ever, so of course the song's are cute as well. It's nostalgia and innocence and strength all rolled up together. I love to sing this song. Badly, yes, but sincerely.
My favorite lines:
“In the town we were born in, we dreamed
Every time I'm crushed, I remember
that just like that song, there's something I can do right now:
step forward, even if just a little.”
And this is getting sappy. But I am now caught up with my meme.
