I've read a lot of fantasy novels in my life. I'd say of books I choose for myself fantasy makes up about 90% of them. Most of them I find ok, a larger than I'd like percentage I find terrible and very rarely do I find a book that makes me go, "THIS is what fantasy should be!". I AM 64 HOURS INTO THIS FLIPPIN' GAME AND THE END IS NO WHERE IN SIGHT. I've done zero sidequests, and minimal grinding. The plot just never ever stops. Worse, the reason the damn game is so long is because the game awkwardly wraps one plot element only to immediately introduce another. I haven't done this in awhile but I liked it so much that I want to highly recommend reading Lisa Mantchev's Eyes Like Stars (click here for the amazon page).
