1. Sword of Truth: Kahlan (
psychominako) - Being the most powerful woman in the world and still getting the things she supposedly cannot have makes for an excellent character.

4. Harry Potter: Malfoy (
nativeprincess) - So evil, charming, handsome, and victimized.
5. Star Trek: The Next Generation: Data (
amaitanpopo) - Because androids with cats and violins are uber cool.
6. Star Trek: Voyager: B'Elanna (
spiletta42) - I like her because of her dual polarity - it is very interesting to watch how she can completely handle the same situation in two different ways which is supposedly because of her heritage but I like to believe it's more of a safety for her to be unpredictable.
7. X-Files: Scully (
taru_chan): I like how her character evolves and grows throughout the series yet she still remains true to herself (we're pretending here, of course, that the last season never happened).
8. Firefly: River Tam (
eldanna) Because she is crazy but can ass all at once.
9. Bones: Brennan (
spiletta42) - It is quite interesting to watch Brennan develop as human being and her sarcasm, wit, intelligence, and facial expressions are amazingly fun to watch.
10. Stargate SG-1: Carter (
spiletta42) - Intelligent, funny, kick-ass, beautiful astrophysicist - what's not to love?

12. Circle of Magic Series (by Tamora Pierce: Tris (
nativeprincess) - Once again with that powerful loner thing and because I emphasize with her love of books yet always feeling like an outsider.
13. Labyrinth: Jared (
neroman) - Not just because of his package either, although mostly because it's David Bowie in tight clothes and make up.
14. Sailor Moon: Sailor Pluto aka Setsuna (
nativeprincess) - Because controlling time, being all powerful, and the ultimate source of intelligent = good times.
15. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Rei (
neroman) - Because I have a thing for crazy, misunderstood, but still powerful characters.
16. Final Fantasy 7: Aeris (
del_chan) - Because she's not weak, only acts stupidly a few times, and most importantly, is not Tifa.

18. Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy: A Trilogy in Five Parts: Marvin the Paranoid Android (
neroman) - He's depressed yet witty, and an excellent view of the human condition.
19. Stargate Atlantis: Rodney McKay (
eldanna) - Oh, come on, the man is super sarcastic, a genius, and slightly evil to boot and his dialogue is the best ever invented.
