Summary: Before being Arashi, they had met, perhaps not only by coincidence.

“Do I know you?”

The brown-eyed boy looked up inquiringly from his manga to see another boy with black hair and somewhat cheeky grin starring at him, hands resting on his knees to support his weight so that their eyes’ level could be the same. “I beg your pardon?”

“Do I know you?” The other boy repeated.

He did looked familiar, but come to think of it, with hundreds people rushing in and out the building everyday, with meeting different faces every hour here and there, for a boy of the age 13,…nah, maybe he wasn’t really sure if he had met the other boy.

“Sorry, I don’t know you. But I think I’d remember seeing you around before.” He added, and was surprised to realize it was true. He would have remembered someone who looked so…fine and different from everybody else, but still he couldn’t tell for sure.

“He must be a sempai” - He thought deliberately to himself, left hand unintentionally playing with the basketball next to him, making it bounce up and down against the floor.

The boy was still starring at him skeptically, as if wondering whether he was perhaps lying, but he looked kind of abashed as well. Nothing like making a fool of yourself for that, the brown-eyed boy thought abstractedly.

“Are you a sempai?” He asked with vague caution, wondering for how long the other boy would be observing him like this, from such a close distance, with their peak of noses almost brushing against each other.

“Not that much, but I’ve been here before you are, two months or more. Does it make me a sempai to you then?” The boy questioned back, a gleam of curiosity and amusement flashed in his eyes, not likely be annoyed by their unusual sudden closeness at all.

He raised his eyebrow, noting where they were. The other boy laughed. “I caught sight of you in the window, and wondered why you were sitting alone in the corner of the room, while everyone else was out for lunch.”

“I’m sorry.” He said again, feeling indistinctly guilty like a student who’d just caught red-handed.

“Hey, don’t sorry. It’s not like I’m accusing you or anything. It’s just, you just looked like someone…”

“Someone you know?” Who, he wanted to asked, but that was too forward.

“Not exactly.” The strange boy scoured a frustrated hand through his short black hair. “I just…well, to be honest, I don’t know why I barged in here or why asked you that. I’m not even looking for anyone, well,…Gosh, You must think I’m an idiot. I just saw you and you looked like,…” Again the boy trailed off, as if he didn’t know what to end that sentence either.

“Oh, I see.” And he thought he did, really. “Well,” His fingers twitched uneasily, and he wished he hadn’t laid down the book earlier so that to avoiding such an awkward moment.

“Yeah,” Responded the black-haired boy, looking nearly as uncomfortable.

The brown-eyed boy half expected him to leave then, but he didn’t. Instead, the dark-haired boy insisted on keeping his position, their faces barely inches from each other, and continued his mission of starring at the brown-eyed boy in silence.

With a sigh, he picked up his manga again.

He read for a few minutes before the silence between them was broken by the certain boy again. “Hey.”

“Yes?” He said amiably.

“I haven’t known your name yet.” The dark-haired boy hesitated, scratching his chin anxiously, then carried on. “By the way, I’m Sakurai. Sakurai Sho.”

“I’m Aiba Masaki” The brown-eyed boy answered in brief, shifting his body uncomfortably under the intense gaze of ‘Sho’.

“Oh, Masaki, that’s a nice name.” Sho murmured, a soft smile made its way on his face, then continued. “Hey.”

“Hmm?”

“It might seem a bit stupid, but have you ever felt lost? Like there’s something you want to find and you would know if you found it? And I was just…I feel like that sometimes. And when I saw you, I thought you were like that too. Maybe that was the reason I came in here. Maybe…”

Some of his confusion must have been showing, because Sho then huffed, irritated. “Don’t know what got in my mind. Sorry.”

Conspicuously, they had made each other equally inconvenient, because Sho had decided to stop starring at Aiba, stood up, and little by little moved towards the door, a look of puzzle and lost appeared on his face. It made Aiba want to laugh.

“I’ll be going, then.” Sho said, smiling sadly. “Sorry for disturbing your break.”

“I don’t mind it.” Aiba finally said when Sho had opened the door and was about to leave.

“Really?” Sho tilted his head back, asking with some kind of hope concealed in his voice.

“Yes.”

“Well, then,” Sho breathed out a sign of relief, his face brightened up like a child. “See you around soon, Aiba-kun”

The little Aiba nodded distractedly, stretching a shy smile across his face. “See you too, Sakurai-san.”

---------------------

Sho sighed, starring blankly at the laptop’s screen as a blow of drowsiness attacked his eyelids again.

2 am in the morning - Sho glanced at the digital clock at the bottom right of the screen - Yet there are still plenty of works to finish huh.

He sighed, this time full with tiredness and frustration.

With a sluggish motion, the rapper took off his glasses and placed it aside on the desk, his head tilted backward until it rest against the sofa’s back. Closing his eyes, he inhaled the cool air of the night and let his body float at will, welcoming the sleep that would come anytime soon.

Just then, (when he thought he’d just about to drift to sleep) a sudden sensation of something cold and wet pressing against his forehead woke him up. His eyes slapped open in the flickering light to realize a familiar face smiling tenderly at him.

“Tired? Shochan?” Aiba’s hoarse voice was full with worry.

“Masaki.” Sho smiled, hands reaching up to caress Aiba’s cheek in the most gentle way. The latter smiled back - and for a moment Sho thought that the whole room was brightened up with that smile - and moved his hand to meet Sho’s firm one. “You haven’t gone to bed yet, Masaki?”

“Nah, I forgot my plushies, and beside, Shochan wasn’t there,” Aiba pouted, and slightly pushed Sho aside to make place for him to sit down.

“And,…I’m also thirsty” He finished the statement, before bringing the bottle of cold water (the one he used on Sho earlier) to his mouth and drank it all down his throat.

Sho grimaced, watching Aiba’s adam’s apple running down and up in the process. “Go to sleep, Masaki. You have work in the tomorrow morning, remember?”

That earned him another pout from the slender man. “Just when I decide to go out to check for you…You’re the one who needs more rest than me, Shochan. You’ve been too busy lately.” Aiba grinned widely, before realized the serious mother-face Sho making.

He quickly changed the topic, spluttered. “So, are you thirsty, Shochan? Want some?” and incompetently offered the empty bottle to Sho.

Sho smiled at his clumsy boyfriend. “I was thinking back about the first time we met. Do you still remember, Masaki?”

Putting down the bottle, Aiba looked at Sho with amusement and a gleam of surprising. “Yes, it’s not like that you can suddenly get ‘attacked’ by a completely weird strange boy everyday, right?!”

“Hey, I’m not weird.” Sho protested, a faint of blush painted on his face. “And I wasn’t attacking you, I just wanted to make friend with you, you know.” He lowered his head a bit.

Aiba rolled his eyes. “Yes, yes, well, let just say your way of approaching my is weird, nee~”

“Go to sleep, Masaki.” Sho grumbled, certainly was embarrassed.

“Yes, yes~” Aiba laughed raucously, not forget to give Sho a peck on his lip before standing up and inched to their bedroom’s door.

“And put some shirt on. It’s damn cold at night. You might catch a cold again.”

“Yes, yes, Oyasumi, Shochan~” Aiba waved his hand lazily in the air, totally gave up to his boyfriend’s sometime overprotecting habit.

By the time the younger man reached the door, he turned his head back, leaning his body against the doorframe, a grin never left his now fully mature face as he eyed the beloved man of his life on the sofa. “By the way, have you found what you’re looking for yet?”

Sho, taken aback by Aiba’s sudden question for a minute, then chuckled slightly.

“Yes.”

Yes, from the first time I met you. You, from the boy who sat lonely at the corner of the large room, to the man that has stood by my side for more than 10 years. You, the one who shared my happiness, and also my sadness; the one who cried for me, smile for me only; the one who looks at me for the true man I am; the one who accepts my weakness when hardly someone does, the one who always took care of me . I’ve known for sure that it was you, that it is always you, the one I was looking for, the one that I have to find, that I've finally found…You!

End.
