I went into Joann's today with Sarah to get the last few things needed to complete her cat ears and tail that I am making for her. Some girl on Cosplay.com gave some great tips on how to make really good ears with 1/2' furniture foam to reinforce the shape and do less sewing. So we get to the store and we get the cotton to stuff the tail, a white boa for the inner fur, and 20 gauge wire for posability (sp?). Go figure, they're out of the foam. They have 1' inch and higher. But that's not what we need.
The woman up front was very useless and said to try the Corvallis store. I get home and call them, they don't carry it, but the Albany store (the one we had just left) can special order it for us. So I call them. For two yards of the foam and shipping it's $18.00. Wtf?! $7.00 shipping!? Whatever. Fine. It'll take two weeks to get here. WTF?! Fiiiine. Oh wait. I have to pay up front. What kind of shit is that?!
Oh wait. They got their freight in yesterday and haven't unloaded it. So it's likely that the foam is in a box somewhere. It should be unloaded in a week. Great.
Most places can check their freight shipment and tell me whether or not it's in those boxes. Or they can tell me from their POS system whether or not they'll get it in soon. But no. This place has to be annoying and slow and uncooperative.
Go freaking figure.
