Well going home for Thanksgiving was just what I needed. You could probably have gleaned that info from my lack of activity on AIM, Facebook, LiveJournal, and any other type of communication. Because I was basking in the lack of schoolwork at my house.
I wrote a bluegrass song today. Bluegrass songs are sort of fantastical and talk about strange things happening, like talking to death and stuff like that. So this morning when I was getting ready for my classes an idea popped into my head, of a bluegrass ballad. Basically the storyline goes that this man is well-renowned and respected in his town as a good fiddle player who gets the whole town moving when he plays. He is playing at the bar one night when a guitar player comes up and challenges him to a musical battle. In the duel the main character breaks his fiddle string but keeps playing, and at the most intense point of the music when the two players are hunched over giving each other the tiger eye, the guitarist's string breaks and cuts the fiddler in the face, rendering him blind and worthless. He is run out of town and is forced to roam the countryside as a blind beggar for the rest of his days.
If you really want to see the lyrics I'll post them, but for the meantime they're still getting edited by the other Bridgebuilders so anything I show will be a rough draft.
