I have relatives visiting. Well, one relative with his new girlfriend actually. But they're both lovely people. I just wish I wasn't so horribly awkward around relatives. D: I want the girlfriend (Elisabeth) to like me, she's awesome.

Sometimes I worry about the way my mom is always butting heads with our city government, a constant thorn in their side. One day it might (and probably will) cost her her job, but she wouldn't be the person I admire if she would just let the bigots push her around in their little political games.

Mom stepped on a toothpick and it went in quite deep. But she pulled it out herself, refused to see a doctor about it and covered the bleeding wound with a band-aid.
