I was at the supermarket this evening and witnessed a man throwing a fit over the way the prices were displayed on some items. He insisted that the display was misleading and the items he wanted should have been cheaper. The woman tried to show him his mistake, but he wasn't having any of it.

Toward the end of my Senior year of high school, I was at a Best Buy looking for headphones to use with my keyboard. My budget was $100. I found a pair of Senheisserrs marked at $129. However, there was already a gummed price label stuck to it showing the price to be $99. I took it up to the register, it rang up at $129, I pointed at the price label, the girl called over a manager, he did a bit of frowning, then overrode the price for me.
This being said, I would never bitch about something that was in the wrong place, or switch labels around, and had the manager really put up a lot of resistance, I would have relented (and not bought the headphones) because I knew that it was a mistake.
Speaking of people switching tags, back in OfficeMarx, I once watched a well-dressed woman pluck a cheap price label and place it beneath a more expensive item. I wasn't wearing my apron, so I suppose she didn't notice me. That is, until she'd put that item in her cart and looked up to see me smiling at her. "Would you put that back, please?" I asked, referring to the label. Misunderstanding, she put the item back and stalked off, but not before giving me a scathing glare of utter derision.
Your suggestions:
1. Stop shopping at the store. Go someplace that doesn't "cheat" you quite so much.
2. Begin a writing campaign to the local papers indicating your displeasure with the store's practices. Also consider writing the store's head office with your concerns.
There are two flaws here.
1. Doing these things requires effort.
2. This deprives the person of getting revenge on the world.
