The future will occur if we wait long enough.

There's a special on right now about some new guy who believes he can predict the future with some kind of mathematical precision. Strangely enough I've seen no math in what he's been saying.

"If the United States continues to put pressure on Iran they may turn to developing weapons. If the United States negotiates with Iran they will likely go away from making weapons."

...

...

DOES THE WORLD END OR WHAT, FUCK NUT? That's not prophecy, that's foreign relations advice. Seriously?

"If climate change continues to make the world warmer, crops will fail and millions will starve. Chaos will ensue and the world will be plunged into barbarism."

...

...

WHEN WILL THIS HAPPEN? For the love of God, that's not a prediction of anything. That's marshaling all the scientific facts at one's command and coming to a probably conclusion. Plants need food, water, and sunlight in balance. Change that balance, crops fail. Humans need food. Take away food, humans die. Humans die in mass, barbarism rises.

I think I'll take a crack at one of his predictions.

"If precipitation comes down from the sky the ground will become wet. Road surfaces will become slippery and those who do not slow down their vehicles will collide with one another."

That feels pretty good! Time for one more.

"If this program about a crackpot who thinks he can predict the future continues to feed on bullshit audiences will change the channel."

And you know what? I'm right!
