047 - Heart
With his knees on the ground, he looked up at his master. Still unharmed, the man stood right in front of him, displeasure evident in his scowl.
To become the Saint of Sagittarius, he had to pass this last test, but every attempt had ended in failure. Though he refused to give up, the Cloth began to look more like something impossible to obtain.
“This will be your last chance, Aiolos.”
The boy swallowed hard and reached out for the bow on the ground, his hands trembling. He watched the Sagittarius Saint take distance, each step taken at a deliberate slow pace.
“Now, Aiolos.”
At the commanding voice, Aiolos stood up. He positioned the bow as taught, holding the arrow steady between his fingers as he aimed at the place his master pointed at. There was no signal, not even a last word, but he knew there was no going back.
Allowing himself to look one last time at the man’s face, Aiolos let the arrow go. It went straight through the man’s chest, piercing his heart.
The second the man’s body hit the ground, the Cloth no longer belonged to him.
048 - Diamond
The sea breeze caressed her face as she leaned on the balcony’s rail, unable to hold in her delight at the breathtaking view of the ocean.
“This could be yours.”
Julian’s voice was soft, but his posture as he stood next to her was full of confidence. Even the most insignificant of his movements was meant to show his natural charms.
Saori acknowledged his offer by turning towards him, her gaze hardening just enough as she answered. “I appreciate your concern, Julian, but I’m not interested.”
“Yet again, you refuse.” His lips curved as he spoke, showing a perfect smile. “Have my gifts not reached your heart?”
“I apologize,” she said, her eyes just slightly cast down. “But I’m not someone who can be bought with diamonds.”
Julian’s gentle presence didn’t waver, but his knuckles grew white as his hands gripped the balcony’s rail, bothered by the words that were nothing more than shallow courtesy.
Diamonds might not be enough, but he still had other options to make Saori Kido his.
