Those of you who write fanfic, how do you deal with extremely stubborn muses? Lately, my muses don't want to help me write fics that they don't feel like writing. They're very stuck on certain fandoms and stories and they only want to work on those stories. They don't care that I have a deadline. I've got an entire story plotted out and ready to begin, and I've been unable to write a word of it because the muses have the attitude, "We don't want to write in that fandom right now. We want to work on THIS story in THIS fandom. We'll help you with that story later. Let's work on this story now." It would take a load off my mind if I could get one of the challenge fics that I signed up for done. I have got a few weeks to finish it, but I don't like to leave things like this to the last minute if I can help it. If I can just get that first sentence... I'll probably try to start the story handwritten. That worked last time. While I just stared at an empty computer screen, writing the story by hand at least got me started. Anyone got any other ideas?

Damn it, I'd really like some worthwhile mail in my inbox instead of all this freaking spam.

damn muses
