Also in drama news, I read this absolutely ridiculous thread today about Edison Chen, who was "Edison" in Metal Mayhem, aka: Gen-X Cops 2. Apparently he's had to quite acting in Hong Kong because of, get this,a " naughty pictures scandal." There are certain things you come across that remind us that although we've been connected by all sorts of mediums through media, phones, satellites, and the world wide web, sometimes the other half of the world can seem like an entirely different planet.
First off, everyone who knows me well knows that I'm a prude. Even so, I do not think a large set of erotic pictures, akin to the types you send you boyfriend/girlfriend, should mean that you are forced to quit acting or be condemmed by your parents. It reminds me of a House episode where a Chinese man was really into Dominatrixes and Bondage, and so his parents had denounced him. House had to lie and say he was dead to get them to come to the hospital to sign for treatment, and even then they didn't care about his condition. Whoa, I mean, whoa.

It's absolutely ridiculous. Taking naked pictures of the people you slept with (who also happen to be actresses), stupid. Having them leaked to the public, embarrassing and maybe career stumbling, but not banishing material. Having said pictures SIEZED by the Police and questioned for hours about them, ridiculous! Leaving Hong Kong because of all this scandal, not to work there again, LUDICROUS!
