my left knee ACL reconstruction surgery...

My op was very smooth and a great success. My doc said I'm likely to be able to get back to almost 100% of what I was before I tore my ACL, so I'm glad. Also, I thank God that I didn't have any post-op complications from the GA and all the painkilling drugs they put into me ( Read more... )

I'm glad to hear it went well. Remember to ice and be faithful with what your physiotherapist has asked you to do daily.

yes i'm diligently taking your advice and icing every two hours... it's definitely helping psychologically... cos the pain seems to be less now... so thanks! ;-P

make sure you take the painkillers judiciously and dont be a hero about it. more likely than not, they are also of the type that has anti-inflammatory properties, and that will get you healing faster.

yes no heroism involved... especially when painkillers have been provided.

once again, 100% is great. bf had similar surgery years back, and he always says that the physio is the most important part in physical recovery, and getting over the psychological fears of using the knee. so agreed with mac bart, do stick to the physiotherapy strictly!

ooh suddenly i'm thinking basketball... will get to see alan's lightning speed cross-court fast breaks once again!
