I'm posting less than a week apart! Go, me.
So, the absolutely stellar, wonderful, spectacular, most-desired of applicants, again, has scheduling problems. ::headdesk:: We're trying to work something out with her because we really want her, but I don't honestly think it's completely fair to the rest of the frontline staff since we demand they be here at a specific time to open the office. Still, we really, really want her. There's been e-mails flying back and forth between my boss, the other Dean and myself about what we're willing to settle for. We just do not want to go to the dreaded "list". Blah.
Since Z. has taken off to China for her FMLA for two months, I've had to start going in to work to open the office. It's only 15 minutes earlier than I normally come in, but it's thrown my schedule off enough that I've ended up parking in the building every day this week. That gets damn expensive after a while. I don't really mind this week, though, because I put in 10-1/2 miles walking to work and around campus last week, which is great, only my walking shoes are at the end of their life cycle, so my feet and knees are killing me. I've ordered new walking shoes, but until they get here I am not walking anywhere but down the corner to Panera. (Yay, rapid pick-up!)
Saw Guardians of the Galaxy Monday night. What a corker! Fun, fun, fun until daddy takes the T-bird Infinity Stone away. I loved all the characters and the story was a good romp; pretty much the perfect summer popcorn movie. No major breakdown of good/bad points (there were both), just to say I had a lot of fun and laughed like a loon for much of the movie.
