I am not surprised at all why 'Precious' is so hyped up and got such a acclaim. The movie deserve every honour which its getting. The movie is moving and is very tough to watch, its realistic, emotional, disturbing and all the scenes in the film look so real that you feel that everything is happening just in front of you. The movie is directed as realistic way as possible.

The movie is powerful yet very disturbing, some incidents in the movie are just so disturbing, especially, the abuse and rape scenes. They are shocking.

The strength of the movie is that you just get so involved so much in the movie from the first scene to end which is not very normal with all the films, the movie is very interesting and superbly powerful.

The movie is full with outstanding performances from each member of the cast even those who have 5 minutes role in the film. Gabourey Sidibe is fantastic in the tittle role, she gives a pitch perfect performance and make your eyes teary with her portray as abusive girl. Monique deserve every award and praise she have gotten for this role of hers, she is outstanding as monster mother who treats her daughter like a shit, in the last scene of the film she shows how awesome performer she is. Paula Patton blew me away with her heart-warming performance, she was fantastic. Mariah Carey is natural in her role and gives very natural performance. All the other cast gives an perfect performance.

In the end you just feel that you have watched some 'real' movie which teach you something that everyone in the world is PRECIOUS. Having said that this is one of the saddest movies i have seen, its a heartbreaking story. The screenplay is tight and the camera work is superb.

Overall its a tough film to watch, its such a heavy and emotional drama. If you want to watch a great movie watch this, if you like such movies then I can grantee you wont be disappointed. Its cinema at its best. Lee Daniels deserve all the praise for making such a fabulous film.
