All this free time is certainly nice.
I'm watching my savings like a crazy person, but with only one job I shouldn't be surprised to see them drop little by little.

Can't seem to get any motivation whatsoever to practice.
Strange how that happens...sometimes I'm so damned gung-ho, other times I'd actually rather exercise.

Speaking of, I'm gradually working more exercise into my life.
Today I'll walk to the nearest Food Lion (2mi one way), and will probably visit Newport News Park as well.
Someone recommended that I add in weights, but it may be a while before I do that.
I've been doing MyFitnessPal for almost a month now. Have seen no change at all in my weight...currently weigh a bit more actually, but I'm chalking that up to, ahem, Woman Issues.

I've been trying to get out of my current housing sitch early, but I don't think it's going to happen. The only people who respond to my ad are crazies, and both 'normal' people who have shown interest ended up choosing other places.
So, fine. I made the bed (or air matress rather) and I'll lie in it.

This retired couple found me on craigslist and asked if I want to live with them in May, once my lease is up.
Their house is INSANE. They invited me over for tea and tarts, and I was there for like 2 hours. Although I wanted my own place, their house is beautiful and huge, and if I can tolerate living with old people I will be able to save money and live in a gorgeous environment. Real wood antique furniture, bay windows, art on the walls, a real bed, my own bathroom...things that I'll never have as a working adult musician.
That aside, there are other indications that this random encounter was Meant To Be.
During the visit I mentioned that my mother's side is Japanese (they had tons of asian art all around).
The husband said, 'oh, I'm reading a book by a Japanese guy right now', goes away and comes back with Shusaku Endo's 'Silence'. I recognized the cover right away. I especially recognized it because it was the same copy I had borrowed from the library less than a month ago.
I'll be thinking about this.

What else. My birthday coincides with the Super Bowl, so I'm going to ignore my birthday :D and hope everyone else does as well.

stuff, life, virginia, japanese
