"It... part of me was dead. And it hurt badly enough that when the rest of me died a little while afterward that I wouldn't have tried to avoid it if I'd seen it coming." The ghost settles down on the back of a nearby couch, his blue optics studying the young man.

"...Looks like ye got better." Oh wait, is he a ghost? Hard to tell.

Then again, Matthew apparently got better as well.

Ratchet shrugs. "I'm a ghost. No longer a part of the mortal world, but sent back from time to time to relay messages or help the newly dead find their way home."

A slight grin. "Or to hang out in the Nexus and give people a hard time."

"So're you here to help me on, or to give me a hard time?" Could be either.

"No. Your question caught my interest." He grins a little sheepishly. "Sorry, I was trying to be funny with the hard time bit."

"Eh, no foul, can understand wantin' a bit of fun," he grins back.

The ghost chuckles. "I'm Ratchet, by the way."

"Pleased to meet you, Mathew." He looks at the young human, wishing that he still had his medical scanners. "So... you're dead too?"

"Well, got hanged and ended up here. Guess I wasn't bad enough, eh?"

Ratchet lifts a brow ridge. "Bad enough?"

"Sure, don't seem like any hell."

"Ohhh. From what I've seen of this place organics sometimes come here after dying in their own realities because they're needed somewhere else."
