Ken isn't stupid enough to pull the crank on his own.

That says nothing for tripping and falling on it. Oops.

Ooogie Boogie cackled, laughing at how he knew those flamethrowers from last year would come in handy.

And he turns them on the poor unfortunate soul.

Ken doesn't scream--maybe disappointing for Oogie, but there's just some things Ken doesn't do.

Of course that may also be because at the moment, Ken's not in the driver's seat. His eyes have turned bright purple to signal the change-over from Ken to Aya, and the swordsman is Not Pleased.

Hm. No reaction. Well, other than that 'stone-cold bad ass' expression.

So Boogie uses the fear gas on 'em. It's gooood to be a cheater.

It might be a learning experience for Boogie to see what effect the gas has on someone who is technically two very different people.

Ken and Aya are not appreciative of the Science! though, not that anyone asked them. They wouldn't answer anyway. Too busy hallucinating fire and corpses.

Now that's more like it! He just sits back and watches the fear on his (their?) face.

Probably just his, since there's no indication other than eye color and attitude to differentiate between the two.

Or not so much, anymore. Ever seen green and purple swirly-colored eyes, Boogie? You have now.

One of the two of them manages to gather enough wits to move them away from the machine, at least.
