Rather than using the Convenient Nexus Loveseat the way it was meant to be used, Ginta is sitting in the floor in front of it with his legs crossed. He fidgets with the edge of one of his fur shin guards before adressing the crowd ( Read more... )

"My boyfriend having feelings for someone else, whether he acted on them or not. Logically I know it's silly, but..." She shrugs helplessly. "I dunno about the second question, but I'm pretty sure the 'imagine them naked' thing doesn't in fact help at all."

Ginta winces. "Ouch. I can see how that'd still sting but it is nice to know that it isn't something he'd act on at least."

That recommendation prompts a look of horror. "Considering these guys are the elders of my tribe... not a bit."

"Yeah." She swallows down the thick feeling in her throat. "Better than a lot of guys my age back home."

"...ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew..." SQUICK.

"See, I just don't get that. The guys who aren't able to keep themselves in check, I mean. If you're going to be with someone you better damned well be able to hold to it or don't string 'em along."

He shudders. "Yeah, just a but."

A lot of things.

Don't think about it.

But none you care to go into?

Heh, got any recommendations for how to do that? Is there a way to distract yourself and keep your mind on task at the same time?

It's not something I can pick just one from.

Focusing just on what you're saying and not on who you're saying it to helps.

Mm, I can see that. Life tends to spring plenty of surprises on people that way.

Huh... I guess that is something to think about. I have to make sure the way I'm saying it is directed at them and their station but I suppose I could figure that out beforehand. That should make it easier to focus on the words themselves as well as make sure I'm saying everything I need to.

*Ginta pauses thoughtfully for a moment. No telling if Enzan has video feed and can see it, but he smiles after a bit.*

That should help at least some. Thanks, kiddo. So, what's up with you?

"Eating too much candy." Ali sits on the floor in front of him, Alured cradled in her arms. "What's wrong, darling?"

"How'd that come up? Didja get a stomach ache or something?"

He sighs and leans his head against the loveseat. "Nothing's wrong. It's a good thing, actually since we're adressing the elders and pack leaders about the future of the pack. It's just that Kouga wants me to talk to them since I know more about it and... Well, I've talked to a couple of elders but never in front of them like that. I'm just nervous, I guess. Not like it's gonna happen any time very soon, but still."

"I had to start eating better so Alured would be healthy." She scoots around to sit beside him, with prompts Alured to reach out to him exploringly.

"You'll do fine. It's natural to feel nervous, but you'll do just fine."

"Ahh, that does make sense. Bet it was hard to quit." Ginta holds out a finger to see if Alured will grab on.

He nods, sighing. "I hope so."

"My brother-cousins."

She frowns, kneeling across from Ginta but not too close to be invading personal space.

"I hear having it written down helps."

"Are they hard people to deal with?"

He nods. "Yeah, I should do that. It's actually gotten to the point where using the little clicky board things by the glowy box things are a little quicker and the characters are right there if I forget one. That might make things easier. Just have to figure out how to make that come out on paper." Computer savvy? Not in the least. He should probably just stick with paper and ink.

"There are over 50 of them, so maybe?" She sounds amused.

"They make tiny cards of paper the size of your hand that people write things on, do you have any of those?"

"Hm, big family." Ginta has no brothers to deal with but he knows how having numerous cousins can be. "And you're having to deal with 'em all at once?"

"Not at the moment, but I think I've seen my girlfriend use them for her schooling. I'll have to ask her about them."

The answer to the first question could be considered upsetting, so she will focus on the second. She smiles and moves to sit next to Ginta, wrap her arms around him, and rest her head on his shoulder.

"Picturing them in there underwear is supposed to work. I've never really tried it though. I don't get intimidated talking to people very often.

"Did you talk the pack?"

He leans into Aya as best he can.

"I did talk to Kouga and Hakkaku. The way I worded it they didn't take it as hard as I did. Now I've gotta talk to the elders and other pack leaders at the next big meeting. That's what's got me worked up. And since it is the elders..." He scrunches up his nose. "I'd really rather not picture them in their undergarments.

"You're smart and level-headed. You are giving them information they need. You'll do fine. More than fine." She smiles brightly at him. She never understood the expression burst with pride before, but she does now. She feels filled pride from her teeth to her toes and doesn't know if she can fit it all.

"Heh, thanks. I certainly hope so. I just have to keep reminding myself that this really isn't about me. This is about something that they need to know." The pride does help, though. He sees it in her expression and it helps boost his confidence a bit.
