Well now, this was certainly... new. Jareth knew that the labyrinth was always changing, but the last time he checked there wasn't an interdimensional portal lurking in the maze. The Goblin King blinked and studied the sign for a long moment, frowned, then shrugged it off. A question, eh? Sounded simply enough ( Read more... )

"Well now, that is no excuse, or at least not a very good one." This coming from the man who believed that there isn't a woman alive that could resist him, especially when he does everything they ask, such as stealing away troublesome babies... Ahem.

((XD *joins in*))

Well, it is to them.

Wait five minutes, she'll come back. Can you sing that magic dance song?

((I. LOVE. YOU.))

...Well shit. What's he doing here?

"What are you doing here?" Toby asks, glaring. Well, yes, he's hostile. He hasn't seen the Goblin King since the jerk made him his successor and promptly vanished.

"I am merely asking a question, nothing more." Jareth replies airily, smirking at the boy. Like he would ever explain that he has randomly stumbled across the Nexus and has no idea how to get back home.

((I love you too? ^^'))

"Yeah, well, I have a few questions to ask you." Toby clenches his fists and continues glaring. He hates that smirk.

((Well, I just picked up this pup, and suddenly a JARETH. ♥ Sorry for suddenly jumping you mysterious internet person? XD Also, repost because HTML tops me.))

"Ask away. If I have the inclination to answer them answers you shall recieve." If anything the smirk only grows, giving Jerath an expression that can only be summed up as 'the cat that ate the canary.'

((That's alright. XD I only picked up Jerath about ten minutes ago myself after I spent a day figuring out if I was going to do so or not.))

"Mostly hormones, though some part might be because they believe they have a long life ahead and don't want to commit to anything long lasting"

Again with the hormones excuse. Jareth sighs quietly but listens. "But I can give them everything they ever dreamed of. I do all that they ask of me and all I recieve is hatred on their part."

Because, your Majesty, young girls barely know who they are yet.

"They should know well enough when everything they want is being offered to them."

"Not necessarily. If a gift is given and the recipient has little appreciation as to what the giver has put behind it. Young girls, particularly ones who have more often than not been given everything they ever wanted have a tendency to flit from thing to thing."

"Besides, offering her a challenge or two to meet in order to see the value of what she is being given can make one far more appreciative."

OOC: *squee!* My muse and I love da Jareth! :)

"Isn't a Labyrinth challenge enough when one only has thirteen hours to reach the center of it?" Oh yes, Jareth knows all about spoiled brats and their unappreciation of what he has to offer. It was part of the reason that he does what they ask. Most of the time he loves watching them struggle with their own faults and insecurities. When one lives with goblins constantly it does get a bit boring.

OOC: I never knew how many Labyrinth fans there were lurking in the Nexus. Now I have a better idea. XD

"Ah, but time is not the same in my labyrinth as it is in the outside world." Just look at Jareth. He is practically ageless.. to a point.
