"The chances of anyone keeping me away from my child are very very small. I just wouldn't tolerate something like that." She folds her hands on her stomach. "But that's pretty much what should be expected of me right now."
"I really do appreciate that Ali." he smiles. "Oh.. these are for you." he reaches into his belt behind his cape and pulls out a couple gossip magazines with their pictures on the cover with headlines like "Mystery woman?" and "Who is she?"
"I think it would bother me to be in that situation. But I would try to at least be a friend to the child. Eventually, the child will probably learn who his or her real parents are, and to know that their real parents had never been a part of their lives--for whatever reason--will hurt them. Knowing that the parent stayed near, and still cared about them, will mean a lot to them some day." He smiles, a little sadly.
"I'd be pretty pissed if nobody told me I had a kid running around somewhere. But then again, the world would be pissed at me for knocking some chick up." He shrugs. "I'd feel a bit guilty, too. My dad walked out on my mom when he learned she was pregnant, and she had to drop out. I didn't have a father growing up, and I guess that's why I'm so screwed up now. I've always had a thing about fathers that leave their kids. It makes me want to kill something."
He raised his eyebrow. "Nice cape. Are you in the Justice Friends or something?"
"I had to leave my girlfriend (sorta, though I guess she's my fiance now..creepy) to tie some lose ends, so I know how it is." He grins. "Urameshi Yuusuke. Or Yuusuke Urameshi to you Americans." He takes his hand from behind his head, and offers it. "You look familiar, blue."
I'd be very freaked out, unless of course I'd actually, um, done something with the mother that would produce a child. Unlikely as that seems sometimes.
And yes. For starters, there's family medical history the kid might need to know.

He looks at his cape. "Thank you. No, I've never heard of them."
