Freya walks into the Nexus wearing a slightly smug smile, and claims a sofa on which she lounges. One of her lion-sized cats curls up at her feet, while the other stretches out on the floor ( Read more... )

Because all the good mead is in Asgard, my dear.

But the ice wine is FANTASTIC.

That thing was back. She's not quite so happy now. "I am not your dear."

Ah, so I cannot be polite to you, milady? *he sighs* Fine, be it this way. Don't be surprised if any of my girls come here, then.

"You're welcome to be polite, not familiar."

Generally, I find my packmates that I'm closest to and we cut up, act silly, and eat as much as we possibly can... which is a LOT for us.

I don't know what mead is so I can't help you there.

"That sounds like a lovely celebration. On what do you feast?

"It's a drink, made of honey."

*smiles* It is. And usually we go with whatever was hunted most recently... boar, deer, various kinds of fowl. If it's a REALLY special occasion sometimes we'll go and catch whatever the man of the hour is craving.

Mm, that does sound tasty.

"Oh, I like your sort of party. What's your name?"

*he smiles* As lame as it sounds, I usually celebrate a victory by catching up on sleep. For finishing a project I try to find some subtle way to attention-whore it around and see what everyone thinks of it.

Maybe there's so little good mead because honey is really expensive.

She studies the interestingly-colored man for a moment, then smiles. "You don't boast of your achievements?"

*he spreads his hands and shrugs* Well, a little these days. But they used to be mostly illegal, so there wasn't a good venue for boasting.

Or it was stuff that everyone else had picked up years previously so boasting about it would look dumb.

"Ah, I see. Still, there is much to your skill that is worth a boast."

Sasha bows, as before, her tone still reverent. "I often indulge in some treat or another; time with my beloveds, a nice bath, a delectable meal, or a favorite book. Might I be so bold as to inquire as to how you celebrate your triumphs, great Lady?"

"Ah, my pretty seiðkona. My celebrations depend on my particular triumph, and the company I am keeping at the moment."

"Ah, how foolish of me not to realize. May I say, it is very good to see you again, great Lady?"

He gives her a mildly quizzical look, wondering what she has to be smug about today.

"My work tends to be the sort that doesn't end, Lady. I like to celebrate the victories that come to me by telling them to someone who will remember them.

Brewing good mead takes skill. Perhaps there are few with the patience to learn it."

She gives him a great big grin, and holds a hand out to him. "We should find someone to brew us proper mead, my friend, and for your lovely daughter when she's older. Come and sit with me."

He walks up to her and clasps her hand briefly before claiming a seat nearby (isn't it great how Nexus furniture always seems to be the right size?) and settling his daughter on his lap.

"If we are to find a skilled brewer we would probably be better off looking around here than in Midgard."

"Quite possibly. There will be fewer uncomfortable questions, to start."
