Hong is idly leafing through the Evil Overlord's Handbook, and is for the most part unimpressed.

"Sages. Why would a person need to be told 'I will not turn into a snake. It never helps'? And should we have people needing to hear that, might they deserve to learn the hard way?"

He claps it shut. "Who among you would actually find this useful?"

She glances at the book, then grins. "Oh, it's really useful! It's great for a laugh."

A subtle smile plays across Hong's lips. "I suppose there is value to it, after all. It's as if it should be titled 'Where Megalomaniacs Went Wrong.'"

She laughs, nodding. "At least whoever wrote it believes in the old saying about history and doom."

The smile broadening slightly, Hong gave a small bow of the head to her. "That certainly does seem to be the case. Then again, new mistakes seem to pile up quite as fast as old ones, Lady.."

He snorts quietly.

"Ah, yes. I wonder, Commander. Why did your "Being Bloody Stupid Act" fall into disuse? Granted, it would cause a deal more work, but the results may have been worth it."

His lip curled a miniscule amount. "Then again, the blind leading the blind... I doubt you qualify as a seeing-eye dog."

"It fell into disuse because we didn't have enough cells to fit all the morons into. Granted, they could have just locked the city gates. That would have worked."

"I never knew that evil overlords had handbooks. Explains why they fail a lot."

His lip quirked a moment. "I find myself of the opinion that any needing a handbook don't deserve to succeed."

"True, but then again most guys think handbooks are pretty useless anyways."

An eyebrow raises a hair's width. "The famed Western 'Manuals are for sissies' approach?

Trust me, it's good advice. To /several/ people. the standards of evil masterminds are slipping these centuries...

I've found it useful for a laugh. Some of the things on the list seem to be taken from the fictions of Evil Overlords or those who want to be instead of actually are.
