Try to learn about them first. You don't know what kind of changes they might have undergone and how that might impact your relationship.

"Not everyone likes being surprised."

"It would be good to figure out how any long lost family members thought about surprises before seeking them out, yes."

::nods:: That iz vhat Jenka said -- she iz the unit commander. It had been so long; it vas such a different situvation; she needed more information.

::shrug:: All I cared about vas how much ve missed them. Vhat did it matter vhat vas different?

"Some things won't matter. But just about everything is going to be different, I don't know what will be important and what won't."

"Brothers are good. I haven't lost mine yet..." She tilts her head a bit, a smile spreading as she brushes some hair out of her eyes. "So this is where you've been hiding!"

His eyes widen a little, than narrow. "I suspect we would all suffer if your brother was lost, Lady.

Here and about."

He looks at her, wishing for a greater clue to her loyalties.

"A good place for it. Your family's been looking for you." She lets that sink in a moment before continuing. "It's funny, watching them run around, like it's the end of the world and you're late..."

He looks carefully impassive. "Have they?"

Her next breaks his reserve and he laughs bitterly. "Oh, I won't be late for that. I'm looking forward to it."
