Summary: It's time to go home and Elijah is packing.
Elijah continued to pack their things in boxes. The next day they would head back to LA. He had enjoyed their time here, but he did miss the city, friends and family. He also looked forward to show Jordan off. Orlando and their little girl lay sleeping on the sofa. She settled after the meal as Orlando fell asleep from the pregnancy and birth. Elijah tried to be as silent in order not to wake them.
He entered their bedroom to get the things they would not need. Reaching Orlando's side,he sat down on the bed to start packing what his lover had collected through the month they stayed in the house. Most was small things Orlando had found on his walks. He received a few things from friends. Some of the things Elijah had bought for him. Then there were socks and clothes that was Jordan's.
He saw the book that he had given Orlando about two months ago. He was tired of Orlando complaining about everything that comes with being pregnant. Elijah hesitated if he should take it or not. There was silence from the living room and he picked up the book. Elijah browsed through it. A loose piece of paper fell to the floor. Elijah bent to pick it up in order to put it back. His curiosity made him to unfold it to see what Orlando had written.
“I never loved nobody fully - Like I become to do with Elijah
Always one foot on the ground - I have always thought to have contact with earth, but Elijah swept me away to the heavens.
And by protecting my heart truly - Before the day I met him, I had been careful. I could not live with him
I got lost in the sounds - of his voice, laugh, heartbeat and I cannot breathe without them
I hear in my mind all these voices - that say I am not worthy of him.
I hear in my mind all these words - that say he to good for me
I hear in my mind all this music - that say we would not be accepted.
And it breaks my heart. - As it is only Elijah I want.”
Elijah's tears ran down his face. This piece most been something Orlando had written long before they really get together… long before they had Jordan. Elijah loved Orlando and he had had similar thoughts about him in the beginning. He was so happy of what they had now, that they dared to put their feelings into play. Elijah folded the paper and put it back in the book. He lay down the book on the nightstand, without reading anything more. Orlando should have to take it with himself. He quickly finished the packing.
With soft step, he went to the living room. He stopped before the sofa, watching the two most valuable people in his life. Neither woke up and he had not heart to do it. Both needed their sleep. "I love you." Elijah whispered and moved a curl from Orlando's forehead.
